I finished my second Clara Wieck drawing essay at the beginning of the week. The result was somewhat satisfying, compared to my first essay. As I was explaining in last week’s post (here), I think my mistake was in the “zooming”, as not close enough to my subject.

In this second essay, I did get closer and I thought the results were good. I feel I am now ready to study the colours and the way I will paint these portraits to render properly the ambiances I have imagined. I started a study painting.

The rest of the week, I drew the under painting. I finished this drawing this morning. Now I have to fix it and paint it in a uniform color, as an imprimatur, and then I will be ready to start painting. With will be next week.
